innovativetheoryandmethodsofmanagingspatialinformation.Spatialinformationtheorydealswiththeformalandnaturaldescriptionofprocessesandeventsinspatialenvironments,thusprovidingafoundationforthedesignandconstructionofgeographicinformationsystems(GIS)andforspatialinformationsystems(SIS)ingeneral.Empiricalinvestigations,formalmodels,andtheuseofspatialinformationtechnologiesrevealalargenumberofinterestingresearchquestionswhichrequireaninterdisciplinaryapproachfortheirsolution.
